About Julian James Advertising Design

Julian James Advertising Design is an independently owned design studio specializing in the creation of visual elements related to all facets of an organization’s identity. We strive to create cohesive, design-driven images for our clients, large or small.

We are personally committed to our clients and their missions. We work passionately to help them increase business, create clear visions of enterprise and institutional identity, differentiate themselves from their competition and communicate important information in a clear, compelling manner.

Our work spans over three decades and has received over 100 national and international awards from organizations such as Graphis Design Annual, Photographis Annual, Communication Arts Magazine, Communication Arts Design Annual, The New York Art Directors Club, The New York Advertising Club, Print Regional Design Annual, Art Direction Magazine and The Society of Typographic Arts. We have also been honored by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

Anthony Taibi

Creative Director

Anthony Taibi began his career in New York City working as a foreign correspondent for General Motors Corporation. He then went on to continue his education at The School of Visual Arts and Pratt Manhattan Center. In 1985, he and Constance Kovar opened their own design firm on West 57th Street in Manhattan and began producing award-winning design work for Exxon, Ralston Purina, West Point Pepperell, and Cambridge University Press. As a design team, he and Constance have won numerous national and international design awards. Anthony is especially proud of having won the prestigious ANDY Award of Excellence from The Advertising Club of New York for an educational film collateral package designed for Ralston Purina. Another highlight was receiving final approvals from His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on designs for Cambridge University Press.

Constance Kovar

Creative Director

Constance Kovar graduated from Pratt Institute with a major in graphic design. She started her career in Manhattan working as senior art director for Penguin Audio Visuals, where she designed national presentations for Chesebrough-Pond’s, National Association of Manufacturers and Seventeen Magazine. In 1985, she and Anthony Taibi founded their own design firm on West 57th Street in Manhattan. Together, they began designing for national and international clients, and receiving numerous honors. A Pratt Institute Lifetime Achievement Award nominee, Constance was also honored by Women In Design International with an exhibition in Chicago featuring approximately 20 pieces of her work. Constance’s work has also appeared in international travelling exhibits in Europe and Japan.
